Southcote GLOBE group was one of the original GLOBE groups set up in Reading by the local council as a response to Agenda 21, the document produced at the Rio summit of 1992 where world leaders met to discuss global environmental issues.
Our aims can be summarised as:

To raise awareness of environmental issues in Southcote.
To encourage use of Kennet Meadows by local residents and visitors.
To improve the environment by taking part in clean-ups, footpath clearance and other improvements.
To work with other groups to monitor traffic problems in Southcote and to lobby the appropriate agencies.
